Arisu is an Emmy-winning designer and director based in New York. Born in Japan and raised in Los Angeles, Arisu was classically trained as a painter, primarily in oil painting. In 2005, Arisu graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Fine Arts Graphic Design. After graduation, she joined Imaginary Forces in New York as designer, and in 2007 became an independent director and designer. She is currently represented by the talent agency, MA+Creative within M+A Group for directing work in fashion, beauty, luxury, and sportswear.

In 2017, Arisu won an Emmy for Outstanding Main Title Design for Netflix's Stranger Things. She has also earned an Emmy nomination in 2016 for designing the main titles for Marvel’s Jessica Jones, which was also awarded PromaxBDA Gold for Art Direction & Design in Program Open/Titles. Arisu was featured in Art of The Title as one of 10 Women of Title Design of 2017.

Arisu is a member of the Television Academy and on the judge panel for the Motion Awards by Motionographer. She has been on the jury for Art Director’s Club 98th Annual Awards in the Motion + Film Craft category in 2019.
